Party Habitat

A lot of holes have been dug this last week…

about 45

And a lot of cement has been lugged up the hill…
A new party habitat is being created to celebrate the arrival of Spring! It will be a pergola where we canĀ  drink our G+T while watching the splendor that is Hastings Old Town and a tiny part of the English Channel…

This is the view – Mindy the seagull of delight is watching proceedings from her chimney pot.

About Anna

I am a ceramic sculptor living on the South coast near London, England. My work is influenced by my experience of the earth as a living being and seeing how we are all connected with eachother and with the things that surround us. I create ceramic torsos using molochite clay which I often smokefire in galvanised dustbins. I also make House Gods to protect and amuse, and Fat Birds - little smokefired sculptures that tell the story about what it is like to be a fat bird at peace with its surroundings.

Oh wow! Can’t wait to see that when it’s finished! It’s going to be gorgeous and you are going to enjoy sitting there for sure drinking your G+T. :)
    *hugs*

  2. I’m looking forward to seeing photos of your view of the English Channel. My brother lives ‘down the road’ from you, right on the coast. When I went there in 2009, it was wonderful standing on the seawall with a sullen English Channel murmuring amongst the shingle.

Yes, a fine old stretch of water. I’ll keep you posted – this week has been a wash-out so all building work is suspended. We need the water so no complaints.
Am loving your regal feline – say hi from me x
