This funny Valentine Cherub sculpture wishes you strength and fortitude! She is part of my House God series; I am holed up in my studio working on some more.
I just wish it wasn’t so cold; my fingers have become almost unresponsive. Time for another hot water bottle!

About Anna

I am a ceramic sculptor living on the South coast near London, England. My work is influenced by my experience of the earth as a living being and seeing how we are all connected with eachother and with the things that surround us. I create ceramic torsos using molochite clay which I often smokefire in galvanised dustbins. I also make House Gods to protect and amuse, and Fat Birds - little smokefired sculptures that tell the story about what it is like to be a fat bird at peace with its surroundings.

  1. You can have some of our heat :-) Did you get my ‘comment’ on asking the price of one of your little owls?

    • Anna says:

Thank you, I’d welcome some warmth, my fingers are cracking up working with the cold damp clay…I must make some more hand cream. Yes, I did get your comment, thank you, and I did reply; basically they’re £40 plus postage, but I’d be happy to send it to Australia free of charge.xx

      • Hmm – I was thinking of getting you to send one to Selsey, just down the road a piece from you. Let me think about it – but oh – the offer of flying free to Australia…
Sadly can’t afford one for me. It would be for my little bro.

  2. A sweet cherub of love Anna. Is she called Psyche? That was Cupid’s girlfriend in Mythology.I was just wondering with your hands. As long as you aren’t alergic to latex, you could try wearing those latex rubber gloves, which you have in hospitals. They might allow you to model the clay, but also keep your hands warm. I guess the kilm is pretty handy on those cold nights too, to warm your hands by. Have a lovely Valentine’s Day! Much Love Paul OXOXOXOXOXO
