I  was born in Copenhagen and grew up in Sweden in the archipelago outside Gothenburg.

 I graduated from Uppsala University and then managed the Ceramics Department at Medborgar skolan in Uppsala for a few years before working as a ceramic designer at the Tao Fong Shan mission in Hong Kong. After Hong Kong I spent the next five years travelling, making a living as a free lance journalist and photographer before moving to Napa Valley in California to live with my wine making boy friend.
In 1988 I moved to Hastings in East Sussex, got married and then unmarried but  have managed to stay put in a place where the hills sing to me.

My work is hand built using a mixture of press-moulding, slab building, carving and coiling techniques.
I have become increasingly aware how deeply connected we humans are with one another and with other life forms on earth. Not just through DNA, but on a spiritual level. This ancient knowledge is re emerging in many ways not least through the popular environmental concept of earth as one living organism, Gaia.
Making my torsos, I celebrate the Great Goddess in her various forms again and again, tracing plants, animals, birds and insects onto her skin.
