Life casting, making the mould

After casting your model using plaster bandages, lukesculpt06-blog2

You will need to make a cast of your mould. blog-moldm1First soft soap the case and then pour plaster into it.blogmoluldm2

A clay wall will keep the plaster inside the mould. blogmouldm-34 When the plaster has cured you can rip away the bandages. Now you have the positive plaster cast you need in order to go on to make a mould from which to create ceramic torsos.  To see more about my ceramic torsos and other work, please go to my website at WWW.ANNAKEILLER.CO.UK

About Anna

I am a ceramic sculptor living on the South coast near London, England. My work is influenced by my experience of the earth as a living being and seeing how we are all connected with eachother and with the things that surround us. I create ceramic torsos using molochite clay which I often smokefire in galvanised dustbins. I also make House Gods to protect and amuse, and Fat Birds - little smokefired sculptures that tell the story about what it is like to be a fat bird at peace with its surroundings.
