Ceramic bowl commission – revisiting old techniques!

Bryan and Susan remained out of contact for several weeks after the bowl they commissioned was finished. This is the commission; https://annakeiller.wordpress.com/2012/07/11/revisiting-old-techniques/

And I was hum-ing and harr-ing, looking at the bowls from this side and from that; and of course in the end I broke down and re-glazed the lot.

And this is the new results.

The brief was FROG – bowls, allright!

They came around to my studio this morning, and this is the one they chose.

The bowls are individually slip cast and about 9′ x 6′ and 7′ x 4′

They only wanted one bowl, but I guess I wanted to make sure I got it right. Besides, I had too much fun to stop at just one.

About Anna

I am a ceramic sculptor living on the South coast near London, England. My work is influenced by my experience of the earth as a living being and seeing how we are all connected with eachother and with the things that surround us. I create ceramic torsos using molochite clay which I often smokefire in galvanised dustbins. I also make House Gods to protect and amuse, and Fat Birds - little smokefired sculptures that tell the story about what it is like to be a fat bird at peace with its surroundings.
