Miss Havisham

A new version of Dickens ‘Great Expectations’ with Helena Bonham-Carter in the role of Miss Havisham is being directed by Mike Newell and released in November.

This is my version of the embittered old lady.

The sculpture is made of plaster of Paris and it is mounted an oak plinth. The dimensions are  18”x 30”

About Anna

I am a ceramic sculptor living on the South coast near London, England. My work is influenced by my experience of the earth as a living being and seeing how we are all connected with eachother and with the things that surround us. I create ceramic torsos using molochite clay which I often smokefire in galvanised dustbins. I also make House Gods to protect and amuse, and Fat Birds - little smokefired sculptures that tell the story about what it is like to be a fat bird at peace with its surroundings.

I look at that, and it makes me think of Helena Bonham Carter in Harry Potter. Cool sculpture and setup

  2. Anna says:

It is a very emotional piece of kit. I’m glad you like it x

  3. Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog for a little while today. I had a great time and tried to leave my campsite as good as when I arrived. I’ll be back!
