My back is telling me to stop for today
And I am beginning to get to the stage where you add something
…bite your nails for half an hour, and then remove it again.
I’m still not sure how to glaze or frame her; will she even get off the bat without warping?
But I have enjoyed the journey so far.

About Anna
I am a ceramic sculptor living on the South coast near London, England. My work is influenced by my experience of the earth as a living being and seeing how we are all connected with eachother and with the things that surround us.
I create ceramic torsos using molochite clay which I often smokefire in galvanised dustbins. I also make House Gods to protect and amuse, and Fat Birds - little smokefired sculptures that tell the story about what it is like to be a fat bird at peace with its surroundings.
that looks stunning!

Wow! She is so beautiful and serene. I like her just as she is without any colour or glaze, she’s so natural. Well done!

I think I agree about keeping the glazing minimal. I’ll probably go with metal oxides in shades of earth and then some smoke firing…Thanks for the visit 🙂

There is such serenity in her face. Beautiful work Anna. I love the figures you have carved around the face.

The figures are supposed to be spirits and daemons visiting her dreams; I think she’s taking it well, considering! 😉

She has such a strong face – maybe that is why she is coping so well? 🙂
