Ceramic torso commission – and the winner is;

My client came today to pick up her ceramic torso; I was wondering which one she’d like best.

I made three torso sculptures based on her brief so that she would find one she really liked. She didn’t much like the green in this torso.

She quite liked this one…

But this was her favourite!
I am really pleased it all went to plan! It is to be a gift for her husband at their anniversary.

Now, back to bed. I have put my back out and am limping about, crawling up and down the stairs like a beetle…

About Anna

I am a ceramic sculptor living on the South coast near London, England. My work is influenced by my experience of the earth as a living being and seeing how we are all connected with eachother and with the things that surround us. I create ceramic torsos using molochite clay which I often smokefire in galvanised dustbins. I also make House Gods to protect and amuse, and Fat Birds - little smokefired sculptures that tell the story about what it is like to be a fat bird at peace with its surroundings.

      Thank you! At least it is lovely weather outside and I can see a magnificent magpie nest from my bedroom window. They are busy building it; massive!

        Oh wow. That would be lovely. 🙂 I know what it’s like with a back problem, having a permanent one. Any chance of a couple of pics, or is the camera downstairs?

    Lucky hubby for sure. Wish I could give my hubby something like that, but he would probably tell me he prefers the real deal..hehehe. It’s gorgeous Anna and I told you she would like it. 🙂 *hugs*

  3. That’s so funny that your client didn’t like the torso with the green color/patina. Personally I love it – maybe because it reminds me of oxidizing green patina on copper/metals. But all three pieces are lovely, Anna.
