Here is an example of the ceramic torsos I make. Each is between 15” and 26” tall and 15”- 37” wide ( the widest ones are the angels). They are made to hang on a wall indoors or out and they weigh 1-2 pounds each. Please click on any torso in order to see its description and email me if you would like to know more.

The detailed-line work is especially beautiful – how do you hang your sculptures? Can you share that information – I’d love to understand.

Hi Maude – Thank you for your lovely comment; regarding hanging them, I just make two hooks or loops in clay at the back of the torso when I am building it. And then just attach a cord and hang it on the wall. My torsos are really light, they only weigh about 0.5 – 1 kilo, tops, so there isn’t a problem.
Have a good Christmas x

Thank you Anna for sharing. I’ve used kiln friendly metal u-hooks in the past but haven’t tried creating the hooks out of clay – nice idea and I’m going to give it a go on a future project.

Should be absolutely fine, Maude. I make the hooks a bit like a handle for a jug…you know, no tension, secure and double secure attachment..
